Widetrack stands for technical precision, genuine off‑road passion and uncompromising quality. As a young, specialised company we engineer and manufacture high-quality components for the Land Rover Defender, with one clear ambition: to eliminate weak points and improve performance without having to compromise anywhere else.

Founded by two friends who have spent years in the off‑road scene, we combine deep technical know‑how with hands-on experience from the workshop, the trail and vehicle building. Every component grows out of a real problem that we have experienced ourselves, analysed and solved properly.

The people behind Widetrack

Nicolas Moll

Born in 1992, automotive engineer.

Nico has driven Defenders since 2018 and has designed and built numerous conversions and modifications himself over the years, including a pop-top roof, roll cage, bumper, interior fit-out and much more.

He loves travelling with his family in the Defender, enjoys off‑road trips and brings his engineering expertise straight into product development.

Klaus Wolf

Born in 1976, mechanical engineer.

Klaus has driven a Defender since 2013 and has turned his vehicle into a fully fledged overland off‑roader over the years. Numerous trips with his family, a love of technical improvements and a great passion for off‑road driving shape his experience and his demand for robust, functional engineering.

How it all began

The idea for Widetrack was born in 2024:

Klaus had converted his Defender to wheels with a low offset and 285 tyres. The result looked great, but in terms of handling it was a step backwards. On gravel tracks the steering behaviour was noticeably worse and the vehicle lacked tracking accuracy.

Out of that problem grew the ambition to develop a technically clean axle widening kit with correct handling dynamics.

Nico started on the design straight away. First sketches became a complete system, the system became a product, and the product became Widetrack.

Originally we wanted to have parts such as the halfshafts made externally. But several well-known companies declined the job or could not deliver the quality we wanted. So we took the manufacturing of all components into our own hands:

Axle widening rings, halfshafts, drag links and track rods, spare parts and accessories. All from one source, all properly engineered, all built to the highest quality standards.

To achieve that, we rely on local manufacturing, short distances and close cooperation with specialised partners in Germany.
